Another #workinprogress #abstract #painting, this one a little bit different in that all of the component parts or sample from portions of one big mostly acrylic painting that in my mind was an abject failure. The three samples, once frankensteined on top-of of and into each other along with some additional bits using some custom filters and just a little bit of #Pixlr seems to be heading in the right direction. #art - the working title is "downfall"

#fbf I'm up late listening to Ginger Baker trio and Bill Frisell tunes while #drawing new or remixing old (as is this case, circa 2009) #sketches. This is #jamaican icon #countmachuki, who was one of if not the first major DJ in Jamaica, going back to his work in the sound systems as far back as the late 50s. He was a seminal influence on folks who would themselves influence the birth of rap and hip hop culture. #art #musician #portrait #pixlr #prisma #mixedmedia

Pulled this #diptych out of the stacks, so I can do some sampling from it for a different #abstract #mixedmedia #painting I have in mind, that started from samples of 3 other works...yes I build paintings digitally from paintings I've worked on traditionally that bear little semblance from their 'lineage'
