A little light reading, done with different intentions. On the left is #AntonioLoboantunes, one of the greatest literary entities from Portugal. That book is in translated English. On the right, is from his daughter, and that book is still in the original #Portuguese. The latter I'm enjoying for its own sake, the former is one of three of his books I have long been pondering on trying to convert into a graphic novel, much as I have debated doing the same thing with another Portuguese author José Saramago's "all the names".

There was a time when I valued a very academically rigorous approach to political science. For the most part I still do Advocate from that position, because I actually still enjoy reading policy papers and analysis. That said when someone asks a question so glaringly ripe for snark , I find that the perfect opportunity to marry insight and profound understanding with unbelievable amounts of bile and sarcasm. Another experiment taking elements from my bank of samples from analog #paintings, and stitching them together digitally. In the last several weeks I've been working on a handful of them painstakingly slowly and some of them are getting pretty close to completion. This has been an interesting test of working my digital tool chain with the same constraints I've had Drafting and painting these last few weeks. Continuing my experiments of #drawing with my left hand, here we have #jazz #pianist #KennyBarron. The likeness is once again pretty loose but I think passable. It was done using parallel pen and #Pitt marker. Barron is one of those pianists that I've always liked but largely set under the radar for a long time and in the last few years I've really grown to enjoy. An understated but very talented player who's gigged with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz to Regina Carter and Dave Holland. #art #sketchoftheday #Prisma

He's interesting because he not only sounds quite cool, and visually it's interesting because his trumpet style involves a two-handed approach using a trumpet with a staggered 4th valve. #art #sketch #jazz #lebanese
