Walkabout between #DTSJ and midtown...on the way to Willow Glen. You'll find random gems everywhere.

Trying to understand #politics these days...requires #beer . #DTSJ

I started to planting random things in small cups and so far the things that have started growing is an avocado tree, and a very small first sighting of a moringa. Next up, rambutan. However if any of these start to grow seriously, a small Loft in the middle of an urban zone is probably not the place for a bunch of trees.... Then again I do have a high ceiling.

An idea that sort of failed...but in turn has giving me a few other things to work on.

Sold this print right out of the studio earlier this evening, and even signed it as the first print of this image that I've signed (hence the 1 of 1 designate). They are also interested in the original, which I will now have to pull out of the archives. There's a very nice conversation and the first time I've actually met one of the buyers since arriving as "in Residence" at LoCo (all the other purchases were done from the presentation wall in the front side while I wasn't in the studio). Way back in The Mists of time (AKA 2003), I met lots of interesting creative people on #deviantART. One of them is this person, who at this point remains nameless (unless she chooses to chime in). A very talented designer, with a great snarky attitude I found refreshing. We've been online friends ever since. Quick #doodle #sketch of Mark E Smith, founder of post-punk stalwarts The Fall (itself named after a work by Albert #Camus). Noisy, dissonant, and ever changing, the fall was never a really predictable or consistent outfit, not the least of which due to Smith's own caustic and well documented ability to be very difficult and very sharp. I first heard them via a cassette I got in The Bargain Bin at @streetlightrecords and I could barely make heads or tails of it of the time. Smith passed away Wednesday at the age of 60. From 2009, a weird one off in that I never have drawn something like this before or since in this particularly weird loose approach. This is the front of the restaurant #parkchowsf , which closed its doors after many years in SF. I quite liked the place until it pretty much became full of insufferable Tech Bros and social jerk wastrels.

I find him in the same vein as HL Mencken, and his tenure on the topical quiz show "have I got news for you" (#hignfy) since 1990 is consistently great...anyone who makes dullard morons like Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarke angry is worth it. Respected collaborator of folks like David Sylvian, Iggy Pop, Youssou NDour, Thomas Dolby, Adrian Belew, and costarred with David Bowie in "Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence". He's a Sonic polymath whose career has included avant-garde pop, solo piano albums, modern symphonic pieces, soundtracks, and comingling all of the above together. This lovely piece of work thinks Ann Coulter is worth taking seriously, and berated @monaeltahawy for not understanding what real oppression is, and to visit the middle East for that (Mona is of Egyptian origin and injured during the political violence in Cairo a while back...). Some forms of moron deserve public drubbing.
