Because I'm going to see them live again tonight (having traveled across the country to get the 'royal' treatment): An old early part of the Vinyl Remix series that I never completed with any formality but submitted anyway. This is the cleaned up from 2004 version. The VR series is where I take old 12" album covers and use them as canvas to adapt the original image into something often far afield. In this case, Beat which was the 1982 release of @kingcrimsonofficial acrylic paint, acrylic ink, wax, rice paper and various other bits of debris + digital As an aside, the best part of this was later being acknowledged by KC biographer #sidsmith for doing this.

This is at least a dozen years old and is a #portrait #drawing of @mariannetaylor , an amazingly talented photographer in her own right who I met through #deviantART oh so many moons ago. I gave us a quick pass through in #Prisma and #Pixlr, but otherwise it's pencil, acrylic ink gouache and some initial digital clean up. (I need to find the portrait Commissioned I did have her and her husband, which turned out quite good if I recall correctly).

This is a variation of the print that was sold off of the wall at @localcolorsj earlier this week, of one of my favorite #jazz musicians , #ericdolphy. It's one of the best #portraits I've ever done, and it reminds me that I need to return to this series. #art #tbtuesday #illustration
