This week's #mixology experiment started with a base not unlike an aviation or a green ghost, but it rapidly warped around when I kept the #chartreuse and #gin and creme de Violette as the basis, and started throwing in Lime liqueur, some lavender Bitters and mint infused simple syrup, as well as some fresh lemon to up the tartness. #foodporn

This #mixology experiment was a little odd, even by my standards. That said, it turned out okay. A mix of #hellyersroaddistillery single malt #whiskey, aloe liqueur, passion fruit juice, and this weird turmeric, ginger and clove drink that I picked up in Napa recently. Add a little bit of lime and honey and it actually turns into a fairly interesting thing even if the color is funky.

Some of the best "light reading" in a while, particularly when idling solo in a noisy library bar.

Every weekend, and even sometimes part of the week, this crew of dudes in what I just assumed is called sidewalk #karaoke, where they project and run a karaoke bar of sorts right on South 1st. It's a chance to do some absolutely spectacularly funny people watching, and where you can discover the limits of how aggressively tone-deaf people can be. #DTSJ
